Erika Walker is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (licensed in both Kansas and Missouri), as well as a Registered Play Therapist. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from Newman University in 2013 and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from The University of Kansas in 2006.
She provides psychotherapy to families and individuals. She specializes in the areas of developmental delays, Autism, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, attachment and play therapy for ages 0 to 10, and 18 and up.
Within her work, she utilizes Brainspotting, EMDR®, directive and non-directive play therapy, and AutPlay Therapy®. She also utilizes Theraplay® techniques.
She strives to offer her clients the utmost quality of care. She works with toddlers, children, adults, elderly, and families through a combination of respect, knowledge, and compassion to promote personal growth and development. Whether a client is struggling with trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, a developmental delay, social deficiencies, family relational problems, attention difficulties, or any number of other struggles, it is her goal to guide the client and/or the client’s family through individualized goals to improve their quality of life. There seems to be a point in each of our lives where we need guidance and someone with whom to talk. She has chosen to be that ‘someone’ that will assist her clients on their path to a fulfilling and mentally healthy future.
