Mary Chapman, LSCSW

Mary Chapman

If you have found yourself here, it means you are thinking about making some changes in your life. I believe counseling requires a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client. Together we can learn to understand how your experiences and history have shaped you, impacted you, and influenced your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

I am a licensed specialist clinical social worker. I graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work. I have over 25 years’ experience working with individuals, children and families. I have worked in the mental health field for the last 17 years. My passion is helping people become the best versions of themselves and learning skills to have a life worth living.

I utilize several evidence-based theoretical approaches in therapy that have proven successful in my work with adolescents, teens, individuals and families.

The clients I work with most are those suffering from mood disorders (Bipolar, Depression), complex and developmental trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I also offer support to family members of individuals with mood disorders, PTSD and ADD/ADHD.

The treatments I use are:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Sand Tray Therapy
  • Brainspotting

Where you look affects how you feel.

Have you tried years of other types of therapy only to find little relief and feel as though you are trying so hard to control your symptoms and think through every response? Do you still find yourself engaging in the same patterns or experiencing the same symptoms even though you "know better"? Maybe you're tired of talking about the same childhood experiences or traumas or adult patterns and you want something different and you're ready for relief now. https://brainspotting.com/about-bsp/what-is-brainspotting/
